As prostheses become mass-produced, they begin to look more generic, with function being prioritized over aesthetic. This results in a loss of uniqueness and bodily autonomy for people with physical disabilities. An individual’s body is unique to them and people whose body has been replaced by these industrial machines deserve to feel the same way.

Limb’s aim is to generate unique covers for every individual using parameters that can be altered and make them accessible with the website. These covers will be bold and will dare to stand out than be taboo. Limb bridges the gap between form and function.

The project explores how parametric and generative design can create a flexible system for prosthetic cover customization, translating individual preferences into unique, 3D-printable forms. Through an integrated branding and digital design process, Limb establishes a visual identity and website that make this customization process accessible, intuitive, and engaging.

Beyond the product, the project considers the complete user experience, from digital interaction to physical ownership. Motion design communicates the system’s possibilities, while packaging and exhibition design bring the product, process, and brand narrative together. These interconnected outcomes demonstrate how design can extend beyond utility to create more personal, expressive, and inclusive experiences.
