Impermanence beholds the fleeting essence of a moment and the transient state in which it exists. Moments captured are ghosts of the day, present one instance and absent the very next.

Impermanence invites the user to play with the idea of reality by taking this book apart, rearranging the pages, viewing it from different angles, in different environments. Every new iteration creates a new reality and each new reality represents varying spectrum in which we experience time.

Each color represents an emotion, a thought, or a feeling immortalized by that moment allowing for infinite depth of the human emotion to be reflected in how our reality is shaped.

Impermanence exists in a transitionary state—transient while stationary—as time passes. To convey this, the publication comes as frames of a moment riso-printed onto tracing paper; crumbling as you handle it. Enclosed in a plastic bag, impermanence protests its very nature in a paradoxical defiance.

Each frame from the moment captured was extracted into frames to create the next part of Impermanence. After riso-printing the frames, they were meticulously scanned back in and compiled to create stop motion animations of the moment.

This act of trying to preserve and recreate the moment destroyed the original even further, thus, reasserting the fickle nature of a moment and how time is experienced differently by every person.

No matter how hard I try to recreate the moment, it is already lost and that is the beauty of it.
